So, I was trying to write something serious last night about communicating probabilities for my talk to journalists next weekend, but it was a depressing day, so instead I did something frivolous that was vaguely related.

Wisława Szymborska won the 1996 Nobel Prize for Literature. I first encountered this poem when mathematician Evelyn Lamb linked to it at JoAnne Growney’s blog Poetry with Mathematics.
